Private devotional painting of a saint who was Duke of Bavaria (995-1017), King of Germania (1002-1024), King of Italy (1004-1024) and Emperor of the Holy Empire (1014-1024). He played an important role in church reform imposing celibacy for priests and is the only officially canonized Germanic emperor. The painting alone measures 32x10 cm.
