"Sulpice Brizard - Pair Of Cane Armchairs, Louis XV Period"
Pair of cane convertible armchairs from the Louis XV period. Very beautiful decor with bold and generous moldings. They are filled with a Louis XV style silk cushion in emerald green color. Everything is elegant and exquisite in these armchairs: sculpture, curves, counter-curves, accuracy of proportions. Unsurprisingly it bears the stamp of a great Parisian seat carpenter: Sulpice Brizard. Brizard Sulpice (1733-after 1796) – seat carpenter – mastery obtained on February 13, 1762: This seat carpenter is distinguished as a representative of the Louis XV, Transition and Louis XVI styles. Our seats date from the first part of his career, therefore around 1762. In very good condition; canework in good condition, covered as new with this very beautiful green silk, of which we have acquired a large quantity, allowing us to offer several matching Louis XV seats to form a large set.
