"Camaera Lucida Berville"
Signed "P[aris] B[erville] - Registered model - 25 Chaussée d'Antin - Paris". The camera lucida is an optical instrument allowing to draw or trace an image using a triangular prism and lenses, the device is fixed by a bracket on a support. Model of the Berville house, founded in 1833 in Paris, by Jules Berville (from 1834 to 1869). Located rue de la Chaussée d'Antin, at No. 29, then at No. 25, it offered a wide range of services linked to Fine Arts, particularly for drawing and painting. Arm length adjustable and adjustable by rack. Model in very good condition in its original box, with 12 lenses with biconvex and biconcave focal points. The top of the lid is slightly worn.
