Hot applique for the foot and the two handles (green and pink glass)
Pearly bubbled outer layer with iridescence
This work is similar to that of Ercole Barovier, a very great creative glassmaker.
It is in the spirit of the “Crepusculo” series from the 40s and 50s.
Purchased directly in Murano, and brought back by the family of the former owners
No visible signature, but this technique of complex intercalary decoration is typical of Barovier.
Ercole Barovier (1889-1974) having developed while he was artistic director and designer for the Vetreria Artistica Barovier & Co a new heat coloring process without fusion, he presented in 1936 at the 20th Venice Biennale and at the Brussels Universal Exhibition of new collections in its glass production, including the one called "Crepusculo". The technical innovation here consists of inserting iron wool ashes between two layers of incandescent vitreous mass.
