Large statue David conquering Goliath. Bronze with very beautiful brown patina medal. Created by Antonin Mercié in Rome in 1872, he received the gold medal at the Paris Salon in 1872 for this bronze. Grand Prix de Rome  in 1868. Medal of honor at the Universal Exhibition of 1878. Member of the Institute, president of the Society of French Artists. Signed A. Thank you on the terrace. Patented A Collas mechanical reduction stamp. Marked F Barbedienne founder Paris. Bears the number 233. Late 19th century cast iron of very good quality.
