A partially glazed sandstone figure depicts the goddess Kannon Bosatsu (Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara) seated on a rock. The goddess is dressed in long robes and wearing a characteristic high hat. Next to it is a blue crackle vase. Infiltrated “flambé” type glaze. Japan,

19th/20th century. Kyo ceramics? Kyoto?

Height 26.5 cm, width 16 cm, depth 11 cm.
