Count Camillo Marcolini Ferretti was director of the Meissen porcelain factory from 1774 to 1814. On his initiative, from 1775 to 1814 the Manufacture's brand added a star to the two crossed swords and the brand took the name "Marchio di Marcolini". The period of his direction was also a period of great flowering of Meissen porcelain.
