Signed SIRAUDIN, 17 rue de la Paix. Interior upholstered in midnight blue fabric.
Dim: W 7.87 in / P 5.9 in / H 6.69 in .

Paul Siraudin (1812-1883). This box probably comes from the house set up by Pierre Paul Désiré SIRAUDIN (1812-1883), playwright and librettist, whose other passion was commerce, a passion which he realized by opening a shop at 17 rue de la Paix; a prestigious place in Paris under Napoleon III, where sweets chosen by Mr. Siraudin, poet and chocolatier and confectioner, were sold. The house offered the most luxurious gift packaging.
