In MEDICIS shapes. Resting on a high pedestal. HARD porcelain. Rust background with RARE polychrome decoration of PLAYING CARDS. Handles, collar and pedestal are entirely gilded. Porcelain decorated with playing cards is extremely RARE. This set was produced from the beginning of the 19th century (only a few rare copies are known dating from the end of the 18th century, but just with a few cards and not the complete set). All the major manufacturers have produced this decoration, NAST, DAGOTY, DARTE... The most used color backgrounds are black, green, brown, red and gold. Dimension(s): Height .18.8 cm - Diam. 11 cm, Condition: GOOD CONDITION - Tiny restoration to a handle of one of the vases (it was cracked on each side - Restoration with gold leaf - invisible to the eye), Period: EARLY 19th century - RESTORATION, Observation (s): Small wear on the gilding (see photos), Note a cooking defect on the colored background which has leaked onto one of the sides (See photo).
