"Walnut Serving Buffet, Louis XV Style – Early 20th Century"
Parisian-made solid walnut furniture with two double-panel doors, surface-mounted and molded around the perimeter. In the upper corners, plant scrolls are sculpted. The overhang frames are miter cut. In the center, we find a knockout pilaster with carved motifs at the top and bottom. The lock is in working order with its key and the vertical entrance is made of bronze. Inside, we find a rack-mounted shelf. Above, two drawers, the central part of which has a knockout and the scrolled rim, are fitted with Louis XV bronze handles. Between these two drawers, the small knockout pilaster is fitted with a lock allowing the two drawers to be closed. The uprights of this piece of furniture are slightly rounded, gadrooned and molded. They continue with a curved Louis XV humped foot with acanthus leaf in the upper part and snail in the lower part. The lower movement crosspiece is molded and volute in the lower part. A molded shelf is held by the four feet. The top of this serving buffet has a red Brèche marble, recessed, with cove molding and bec de corbin. The upper part of this piece of furniture is independent and can be removed. It has a mercury mirror in excellent condition, accompanied by a molded frame and in the upper part, a molded cornice has a shell in its center. The interior and back of this piece of furniture are made of oak. ******** Period: Early 20th Century Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop. Waxed finish.
