"Fan Of The Grand Tour, The Eruption Of Vesuvius And Stromboli, Lake Agnano, 18 Thc"
Rare grand tour fan from the end of the 18th century. The cabretille leaf is painted with gouache of three cartels. In the center a view of the Bay of Naples, with Vesuvius erupting at night in 1787, on the right a view of the smoking Stromboli and on the left a view of Lake Agnano. The frame is made of wood. Note wear and restorations on the leaf. It measures 10,63 inches closed and 19,88 inches in diameter open. Circa 1790.
