"Important Pair Of Marmousets Andirons From The Louis XIV Period"
Important and beautiful pair of so-called "marmouset" andirons from the Louis XIV period from the 17th century in gilded brass. Ordinarily the so-called "marmoset" andirons are decorated with grotesque figurines, here, they are the heads of almost smiling cherubs, chubby and hairy.
Good condition, traces of use
Height 40 cm, width 23 cm, diameter of the main ball 8 cm – total depth 70 cm including 53 cm for the long bar.
