"A Complete Bed Canopy In Adrianople Red Cotton Damask - France Circa 1880"
Last third of the 19th century France Complete bed canopy of its set in red andrinople cotton damask dating from the end of the 19th century. Semi-circular structure in veneer wood (small damage to the wood) stretched with red cotton and provided with a slope at the bottom of the bed. Two large curtains fitted with brass rings, a gathered Polonaise pelmet, all decorated with matching pompom tassel trimmings. Two golden brass mounting hooks are provided as well as two red tassel embers (damage to the embers). Unlined curtains. Note slight traces of sunstroke on a curtain (very barely visible when draped), otherwise no stains or holes. Overall good structural condition. Dimensions: Two curtains of 266 cm x 330 cm each. Lambrequin 180 cm x 45 cm high. Sky wooden structure 123 cm wide by 80 cm radius at the widest.
