"Bronze Statue Of Apollo - Cast Iron Early 20th Century"
Bronze statue of a naked ephebe, holding a drape hiding his penis with his left hand. His right hand pointing outwards is to be compared to a Narcissus from Pompeii, and his hair forming a knot, characteristic of Apollo, is to be compared to the Apollo of Belvedere. The founder remains unknown, but the production remains comparable to the casts of the Lauchhammer house, making similar subjects, such as Artemis. The artist is also unknown. The lower part of the body is not positioned contraposto, showing us that this style mixes ancient and modern subjects. This allows us to date it from the beginning of the 20th century.
