Of great executive quality, this parade console is proof of the mastery achieved by the eighteenth-century Turin cabinetmakers in making furnishings commissioned to them by the major aristocratic families.

This type of furniture, characterized by a remarkable ornamental exuberance, distinguished the large shops that operated in Turin in the first half of the 18th century, seeing the emergence of important schools on the peninsula, together with the Roman and Genoese ones.

The opulence and the plastic vigor of its design exceed the function of the furniture becoming in fact objects to be contemplated, parade furniture, works of art and as such aimed at the exaltation of the owner who through it ennobled his own spaces. domestic representatives and their social rank.

The console is crowned by the original shelf in precious purple Calacatta marble, shaped to the trend of the wooden frame, finished in its perimeter by a beautiful 'owl's beak' profiling.

The sculptor perfectly adheres to the lexicon of the mid-eighteenth century, full of citations with a rocaille taste known as the "Louis XV style", which can be found in the typical frivolous and fluttering cartouches, in the acanthus leaf decorations and in the curly endings. legs are softened by an ever-graceful wood carving, tuned by an "X" crosspiece centered by a large asymmetrical motif in an exquisitely Rococo style.

The same processes can also be found in various geographical areas of Northern Italy (Milan or Genoa, mainly) or in France, to whose refined productions our console could also refer.

STATE OF CONSERVATION:
The console is in a good general state of conservation. It has normal wear of the gold leaf, with some lacks and small cracks scattered throughout the structure (repairable at the discretion of the future buyer).
