Paul Sortet (1905-1966)
Belgian painter and sculptor. He studied at the Brussels Academy. In 1939, he was sent by the Ministry of Colonies to the Belgian Congo. In 1945, his works with other Africanist artists were exhibited in London at the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolor.
Attached to Africa, Paul Sortet will become a planter in Rwanda. He left Africa in 1961 to return to Belgium.
