Magnificent Ispahan rug in very good used condition, work, in which you can read the whole history of the knotted rug.
These are my favorite pieces, as the quality and beauty of the design are always there.
## Isfahan or Isfahan in hand-knotted kork wool for 480,000 knots per m2 around 1950 -1960.
Persian knot 60 knots on 10 cm width / 80 knots on 10 cm length Ivory cotton warp - double wefts in blue cotton - wool velvet.
This piece measures 210 cm wide by 310 cm long.
Decor of great finesse, medallion, field and very sophisticated border for this type of Persian considered to be the finest and solid carpets found in Iran.
The colors of natural origin mix deep red, wine red, blue and ivory, red, creating contrasts with striking blues.
The ivory enhances all the patterns. The decoration of this room uses traditional colors and floral patterns appearing in 16th and 17th century carpets and in mosques, on ancient ceramics from the Safavid period.
## We easily recognize palm leaves, lotus flowers and almond blossoms often knotted on these carpets in the interlacings.
The border is very sophisticated, as the arrangement of interlacing palms, blue and wine color alternates with lotus flowers.
The interior and exterior braids are adorned with small flowers and meanders, motifs used in Persia (Iran) and Turkey.
The design of the imposing central medallion with 16 points, just placed, is specific to these carpets with elegant extensions in large pendants like blue halberds or even large fleur-de-lis, accompanied by pendants, and the curve of the motifs in the corners demonstrate great research. Pile, selvedges, fringes in good condition.
The carpet has been restored with a new edge; One part with slight wear visible in the photos.
We find essentially the same medallions among the Kachan and the ancient Tabriz from the same period.
We find it very difficult to imagine the infinite patience that was needed yesterday and that it takes today to create such beautiful pieces.
This type of carpet proves to us the artistic sense, fine, precise and acute, of the artisans of Isfahan.
The most beautiful carpets in the world often remain in terms of decoration, finish and beauty of the wool, the Ispahan. Isfahan is still the great city of art in Iran today.
Under the reign of Shah Abbas, the reputation of this city in the artistic sector was very important.
This city has produced great artists, and some of the most beautiful rugs in the world.
This rug has been professionally and environmentally friendly cleaned.
