Interior scenes with monkeys.The inventor of these unusual works was in fact a Flemish man named David Teniers the Younger. At a certain point in his career he had the idea of placing groups of monkeys in environments, especially internal ones, engaged in performing all the actions that humans normally perform. This pictorial fashion was revived especially in France with the painter Chardin.
