"Quai De Colmar - By Marcel-jean Brimeau"
Watercolor placed under glass, in its original frame, signed "MJ Brimeau" for Marcel-Jean Brimeau, dated 1936 and located in Colmar. Brimeau was born in 1889 in Brittany, the land of most of his achievements. He is a watercolorist, illustrator, and won the Fernand Renault prize from the Salon des Artistes Français for best watercolorist in 1975. This watercolor was exhibited during the Versaillaise exhibition of 1938, as shown in the insert on the back. The subject shows the Quays of the Colmar fish market in 1936, in a genre scene. The typical building visible on the left is today a restaurant.
