""large Figure Of Emperor Of China" Lille XVIIIth Century Circa 1745/50; Designed In The 19th C."
Rare and beautiful production of this Earthenware: "Great Figure of the Emperor of China" originally designed between 1745-1750. This rare and large decorative piece of the Emperor seated on his throne is of quality. An imposing earthenware statue decorated with small fire on its square base and entirely decorated with motifs dear to the Louis XV style and very popular in the middle of the 18th century. The piece that I am proposing is of a later design not devoid of charm and a strange and beautiful ornamental and decorative presence in the spirit of the beautiful Lille productions, where China was an important source of inspiration for various productions representing the Orient and all the fascination it generates. It is a quality piece and in very good condition faithful to its Ancestor "the Great Emperor of China", this piece of curiosity by its singularity in its place in a "Cabinet of Curiosities", see the photos and the report of the sale of his older “Brother”....
