Allegorical 19th century bronze sculpture with brown patina representing a winged character entitled the sower of ideas. Signed on the E. Picault terrace, Salon des Beaux-Arts. A cartridge bears the title "Sower of ideas by E. Picault mentioned at the Salon. Emile Picault (1833-1915), French sculptor and medalist, specialized in allegorical or mythological subjects often accompanied by maxims in Latin or French. His work has been the subject of multiple editions and can be found in several museums. A model of the Semeur is presented at the Museum of Fine Arts in Chambéry. Height: 40 cm.
