"Crucifix Stoup In Cloisonné Bronze - Barbedienne - 19th Century"
Crucifix Stoup signed F.Barbedienne under the base of the stoup for the founder Ferdinand Barbedienne. This cloisonné bronze technique comes from the Italian "pietra dura" of the Renaissance, several white marbles, lapis lazuli and other semi-precious stones assembled in a single puzzle. Screwed onto a slate plate damaged in several places, itself resting on a large gilded bronze plate. The bronzes are intact. "IHS" symbol of Christ in the center. Second Empire period, around 1860.
