"Small Mahogany Living Room Serving Unit, Restoration Period – Early 19th Century"
This small serving unit, made in Paris, opens on the front with a door framed in mahogany wire, assembled with a miter cut, fitted with an original lock with chiseled entrance and key. This door is dark with a moiré mahogany panel, arranged in an open book with molded surround and mahogany spandrel. The interior offers a shelf mounted on racks offering the possibility of adding one on request. The knockout stiles also have patterns on the bottom and top. This assembly rests on a plinth with grooves projecting on the three visible sides. The upper part in moire mahogany, with double molding on the edge, has scrolled consoles as well as twisted elements supporting a first shelf then a second smaller one. These shelves are decorated with wooden galleries with turned central motifs and retaining strips. Presence of a partial stencil from the Parisian manufacturer on the back of the furniture.
