"Commode In Solid Cherry, Transition Louis XIV / Regency Period – Early 18th Century"
This regional chest of drawers in solid cherry wood offers three identical drawers, with a convex surface-mounted front, with a knockout central part and molded ogee interior surround. These drawers, fitted with dust covers, are decorated with original bronze handles and faux entrances. The uprights are round and smoothed, which was very common for this type of furniture at that time. The crosspiece is delicately animated with a cut-out central part. The flowerbed sides are covered with a raised panel with grooves. The top, with bec-de-corbin, has three well-joined boards without composite filling element. Essential in living rooms, bedrooms or refined offices in particular, this chest of drawers tells us a story that those under 300 cannot know. ******** Period: Early 18th Century Certificate of authenticity provided.
