Object description :

"Daum ☨ Nancy France. Flared Bubble Glass Vase, Art Deco Period."
DAUM ☨ NANCY FRANCE.

Flared vase resting on a circular heel, made of thick colorless white glass, mouth-blown and worked with a tool, with interspersed decoration of fine and numerous air bubbles.
Art Deco period, circa 1930-1940.
Vase both "simple" in appearance, but quite technical (made by hand, in an artisanal manner), with an innovative and stylized design, having probably subsequently inspired or influenced the style of Biot glassware, notably .

Manufacture of the DAUM brothers, in Nancy.

Handwritten signature engraved with a stylus, on the heel of the vase, the marks "Daum", "Nancy" and "France" enriched with the Cross of Lorraine (see photo n°3).

DIMENSIONS: - height of the vase, 16.70 CM; - diameter at the neck (at the opening, at the top), 14.00 CM; - diameter at the base, at the bottom (base), of 08.50 CM.

CONDITION REPORT: the vase is in excellent condition, perfectly preserved, without any chips, no accidents, no traces of impact or any alteration. The glass is intact, no opacification or limescale veil; it is very shiny. We simply notice a few small, fine interior scratches located at the bottom of the vase (see photos no. 4, 5 and 6), but very barely visible and without any real impact (they were probably caused by flowers) . These scratches are therefore of low incidence, they are barely noticed and, consequently, do not really alter the interest of the vase. Photos n°7 and 8: points of detail. Some tiny marks of use (in no way constituting wear) visible on the periphery of the neck of the vase, these being micro-scratches, very fine and really very barely visible (no impact). This is only a classic use, in no way constituting real wear and tear. Almost invisible. Overall, this vase is perfectly preserved, free of chips or incidents and the pure and shiny appearance of the glass is intact. It is a beautiful old piece, both decorative and collectible. The marks of use mentioned have no impact on the interest of the vase: they are really only barely noticed, are not spontaneously visible; the vase is very well preserved.
