Circa 1880 France A day dress, skirt and bodice in glossy brown silk toile dating from the beginning of the Third Republic. Boned bodice, hook-and-eye crew neck and imposing pagoda sleeves. Complete with its ten facing buttons (slight missing buttons) and applique of canned cords of black trimmings with jet beads around the edge of the bodice and the ends of the pagodas. Coordinated skirt mounted in organ pleats behind for a turning cage. Ecru cotton waist belt bearing the brand Anne Lavallette, Robes et Confections in Cournon. Interesting Second Empire model around 1865, updated twenty years later by a seamstress according to the criteria of changing silhouette. Lining in brushed cotton, chintz and silk for the bodice. No lining for the skirt with black tarlatan insert at the bottom (tarlatan tears) to accentuate the ruffle. No holes or stains. Very good state of color and conservation. Dimensions: Equivalent to France size 36. Bodice: shoulders 43 cm, waist 67 cm, chest 87 cm, sleeves 46 cm, height 44 cm. Skirt: waist 65 cm, height 105 cm, skirt bottom circumference 334 cm.
