"Drawing Around 1800, Jb Hugon, Lyon, Château Gaillard"
Ink wash drawing, made around 1800 by the artist Jean-Baptiste HUGON. It represents a building in Lyon that has now disappeared, the Château Gaillard. Dating from the 16th century, it was located near the quays of the Saône and Place des Terreaux. It is represented here in a state of ruin, and we can see in the foreground two silhouettes of women in this picturesque landscape. Very nice quality of execution for this interesting work for the history of the city of Lyon. Framed in an old natural wood baguette. Total dimensions: 25 x 21 cm, and 15 x 10.5 cm at sight.
