Exceptional chatelaine Leroy & fils in Paris including a collar watch and its double chain in pink gold. The chain is decorated with decorative gold elements set with half-pearls. It features a large neck watch set with half-pearls and enameled dial with double timer with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes. The movement of this watch is mechanical with a signed cylinder escapement. It also has a non-monogrammed lapis lazuli stamp as well as another small watch whose two-tone gold shell set with half-pearls is finely crafted. This man's chatelaine is in its original case and bears the inscription Leroy & Fils marine watchmaker at the Palais Royal in Paris.

This watchmaker's house founded in the 18th century has acquired international fame. It was a supplier to numerous royal courts including that of France. The house founded by Basile-Charles Le Roy then taken over by Charles – Louis Le Roy received numerous awards at universal exhibitions. The Gallery founded at the Palais Royal had numerous branches on the Parisian boulevards and in London. This type of chatelaine was real jewelry and fashion accessories. The chatelaines were loved by men and they wore them on their waistcoats.
