Louis XVI style games table and landscape marquetry. 19th Century Portfolio game table dating from the first half of the 19th century, made in the Louis XVI style. Sheathed base with bronze shoe, top inlaid with a checkerboard and two landscapes with naive citadels with veneers of stained wood and precious woods such as lemon, amaranth, mahogany as well as local woods such as burl , sycamore and ash, the crimping forms on the belt rosewood reserves arranged in chevrons framed by nets simulating ribbons in sycamore and black stained wood, each side of the foot is veneered with rosewood reserves of thread in boxwood and rosewood net frames. In the closed position the table offers a checkerboard on the board allowing you to play checkers, the belt slides to allow the positioning of the board once open revealing the felt for card games.
