"Small Mahogany Console, Louis XVI Period – Late 18th Century"
This small console opens at the waist with a drawer in mahogany heart veneer surrounded by a half-round brass and a miter-cut strip. This drawer is decorated with two brass drop handles with chiseled fastener and plate as well as an authentic iron lock with original entrance and later key. The concave sides are worked in the same spirit. This belt, highlighted by a protruding rod leaning against a quarter round brass, rests on four swollen feet with fixed grooves and ending in a spindle shape with brass ball shoes. A spacer shelf with an openwork gallery connects this base. This piece of furniture is topped with Carrara marble also surrounded by a gallery with projections on the front. The interiors are in oak.
