"Beautiful Old Jewel "
Very beautiful and rare Napoleon III period brooch in gold (18 carat 750/1000), fine pearls, amethysts and enamel. It is in perfect condition, like new in its original box. The work is superb and all the pearls and stones are original. The chain that holds the tassels is very elaborate and unusual. The black enamel highlights are in perfect condition. It is a jewel very representative of the jewelry art of the second half of the 19th century. It is hallmarked with an eagle's head and bears the very legible makers' mark of the Loguet brothers, Prosper and Joseph, based in Paris on rue du Temple. They are referenced between 1857 and 1877. The so-called "clog" box is the original one, the locations of each element of the jewel including that of the tassels being proof of this. Box a little used and tired. Gross weight: 21.50 g. Dimensions: height 9.5 cm. Diameter of the upper part: 4.5cm. Truly a beautiful old jewel, which has become rare in this condition. High quality work and a testimony to this jewelry art that has now completely disappeared.
