19th century France A fine chestnut brown hanging blanket with indigo blue stripes woven from corn, linen and sheep's wool from Languedoc. Very tight weaving on a hand loom in the countryside in the 19th century, its touch is both soft and rough. Warp weaving has color differences between dark brown and light chestnut. Never seen before! Some small period repairs, but without major defects. Good condition. Very rare ! Dimensions: 178 cm high by 94 cm wide.
