After training at the National School of Decorative Arts, he led a very classic artistic career. He painted decorative frescoes for several public monuments including the castle and the Town Hall of Vincennes, his town of residence where he died in 1980. He also dealt with religious and historical subjects, multiplied the still lifes and was inspired by the landscapes that he discovers during his walks. He likes to paint the forests of Ile de France and the Breton coastline. Also an admirer of mountainous sites, he joined the Society of Mountain Painters. Having family in Mayenne, Paul Delormoz regularly stays in Grand Coudray, commune of Chantrigné, in the north of the department. He lived there in June 1944 when, demobilized, he could not find his apartment in Vincennes, which was still requisitioned. The city of Laval has just been bombed by Allied aircraft and the painter reproduces the destroyed bridges and viaducts. These gouaches on cardboard presented in the window of a shoe store on rue de Rennes are a great success with Laval residents.
