"Candlestick, 18th Century. "
This small silvered bronze candlestick dates from the mid-18th century. It is small in size and is what is commonly called a toilet candlestick. The baluster stem rests on a contoured foot decorated with moldings, the binet is gadrooned at its base and decorated with several fillets. By revealing the yellow of the bronze, the worn silvering offers the eye a pleasant patina where gold and silver compete.
