Carved detailed wooden temple statue or element of the Hindu goddess Kali, associated with time, change, creation, power, destruction and death in Shaktism.
In good condition for its age, missing arms and normal wear, as with many temple pieces from this period.
It rests on a custom-made wooden base from the 20th century. Very beautiful and detailed sculpture. Some remains of petrified wood/patina.
Dim: 57 x 32 x 12 cm / weight: around 6 kg / base: 27 x 11.5 cm.
The photos are made in a studio, the last four however by natural light. The color of the polychrome is nearer black than dark brown.
