The Greek goddess Artemis – called Diana by the Romans – was the daughter of Leto and Zeus, the supreme god. His twin brother was Apollo. As the goddess of the hunt, Artemis or Diana is often depicted with a bow and arrows. She lived in the forest, in the company of her companions, the nymphs.
