JAPAN - Edo period (1603-1868) the kabuto is made up of 36 strips of brown lacquered wrought iron. THEHEN NO ANA (opening at the top) in copper at 3 degrees SHIKORO (neck cover) at 4 degrees in black lacquered iron for the first three rows and red and black for the last and green silk braiding, gold interior. The whole covered with white horsehair. FUKIGAESHI (fins) and MABI SA SHI (visor) in wrought iron covered in embossed leather decorated with foliage scrolls (slight missing on the reverse of one fin).
