Beautiful Arçon flintlock pistol, 18th century, Louis XV - Louis XVI. Walnut mount with long barrel ending 4 cm from the muzzle of the barrel. Ring at the end of the brass barrel with guide for inserting the stick. Slightly sloped handle with very long-eared pommel. Cap with floral crown and fleur-de-lis in relief, see photo. Oval iron trigger guard, forming a guard at the rear and profiled towards the front. Brass mouthpiece wand, crossing the barrel. Steel barrel with long thunder sides, octagonal evolving towards a cylindrical section at the muzzle which is reinforced. Barrel bearing hallmark: P & A at thunder height and hallmark at the end of the barrel illegible. Muzzle caliber: 17 mm and smooth barrel interior. Breech tail between the ears of the mount, ending in a pointed tongue. Front flintlock with safety and cocking catch, in perfect working order. Swan neck dog with volute crest and presence of a flint. Bronze basinet bearing a "P" hallmark surmounted by a partly erased trefoil. Steel battery and counter plate on the left side engraved with 2 fixing screws, one of which bears the “A & B” stamp, see photo. Smooth, straight trigger.
