"The Linenwoman, Drawing By Camille Bellanger, 1897"
Camille Bellanger studied at the Paris School of Fine Arts under the direction of Alexandre Cabanel (1823-1889) and William Bouguereau (1825-1905). He won the second Prix de Rome in 1875, and subsequently continued to receive numerous awards for his paintings. Bellanger regularly exhibited his work at the Paris Salon. Our work is characteristic of Bellanger's drawings by the precision of the line. Signed and dated lower left: Camille Bellanger 1897.
