Brussels 1814-1831, Pair Of Candlesticks From The Restoration Period, Sterling Silver, Charles flag

Object description :

"Brussels 1814-1831, Pair Of Candlesticks From The Restoration Period, Sterling Silver, Charles"
Lovely pair of sumptuous Restoration period candlesticks in solid silver with Brussels hallmarks for the period 1814 to 1831. The master goldsmith hallmark is that of Jean Louis Diricq, an Athois who was already active as a master goldsmith in Brussels before the end of the old regime. The two large torches are very elegant and discreetly decorated with everything that the Charles X style has to offer. The capitals in the shape of papyrus flowers still bear witness to the “return from Egypt” taste launched under the First Empire. The bobèche trays are detachable and are also hallmarked.
