"Rare And Spectacular Camphor Wood Chest "
Rare and important travel chest in camphor wood. It opens with a lid from above which is articulated by large bronze hinges. Two cylinders (rear) prevent the cover from tilting backwards. Simply screwed on, these jacks are easy to remove. The hinges are fixed by strong clips with round and decorative bronze lozenges, visible on the lid and the rear panel. A large cartridge engraved with the initials "gg" as well as the inscription N 1 in bronze adorns the center of the lid. Two sturdy bronze handles are attached to each side of the trunk for transport. Two locks in good working order protect its opening. An old key operates these two locks. Superb work probably English from the end of the 18th/beginning of the 19th century.
