"Reduction Bed For Pets, Late 18th Century"
Reduced bed for pets, late 18th century. Rare and very elegant reduced cross bed, probably made for a dog or a cat, the bed wood takes up the models from the end of the Louis XVI period and the Directory, with details specific to the architecture of this period such as the bedside tables ending in a broken pediment shape or the uprights with baluster columns, the ornamentation is also very representative of this end of the 18th century with the gadroons which adorn the bulge of the columns or the well-detailed buds which crown each Rising. This bed for our four-legged friends dates from the end of the 18th century, it is made of dark green lacquered wood with some lighter green highlights. The wood is in good condition, the bed base and the cushion are covered with a superb gourgouran as could be found at the beginning of the 19th century. Dimensions: Width: 89.5 cm Depth: 54.5 cm Height at rear columns: 74 cm
