This lovely box is decorated on the lid with a horse's head harnessed in a horseshoe of gold thread and dots under the enamel, surrounded by a garland of roses and foliage with ribbon knots, a net of blue enamel around the edge.

Meyle and Mayer dragonfly maker's mark inside the box and mark in the center of the decoration on the outside.
Small restorations carried out: A chip on the side of the box and two touch-ups to the blue enamel net on the lid.
