I might have called it "Lapicque before Lapicque", but that would have been wrong: the master is completely present in this painting with his audacity and his innate gift for colors. Here is a powerful work by Charles Lapicque, dating from the 1920s, depicting seaside cabins under an azure sky, most likely in Brittany. Our oil on board is signed with a pyrogravure needle at the top left. Measuring 46 x 38 cm, the framed dimensions are 55 x 46 cm.
