"Cubist Sculpture By Anne Marie Profillet "
We are presenting for sale today an exceptional piece by Anne Marie PROFILLET who was close to POMPON, the famous sculptor. Our exceptional work is treated in the cubist way. This bronze, since it is a bronze from my personal collection, is a lost wax numbered 5/20. It may also be possible that there were not 20 tests. The name of the founder Susse Frères is engraved on the terrace and on the profile where we find the stamp of the founder, an exceptional patina. It's actually a donkey. The price will be non-negotiable, I am reluctantly parting with it because we have to pass the torch as we get older. Anne Marie PROFILLET was born in 1898 and died in 1939, and she knew very little of the war, if she knew it at all. She was born in Rennes (35), her father was a soldier commanding an artillery squadron. On the final exam of his training never seen before 20/20. She exhibited in 1926 for the first time at the Salon d'Automne in Paris and in 1929 while she was working at the Jardin des Plantes, POMPON called out to her and this marked a friendship which would last until the latter's death in 1933.
