Iron hunting dagger 12th century The back of the blade and the handle bear an illegible inscription (partially covered with rust)The handle is gilded which suggests that it was a nobleman's weapon.
A hole in the pommel allowed it to be worn on a belt.
French work from the 12th-13th century.
This weapon was found during an archaeological dig in eastern France at the beginning of the 20th century.
Strong corrosion but common for weapons from this period.
