Painter of the Golden Age of Dutch painting, Hendrick Mommers was born in 1623 in Haarlem, he died in Amsterdam in 1693. In 1647 he was a member of the Guild of Saint Luke in Haarlem. He traveled to Italy and many of his paintings are market scenes from that country, like the painting we are offering.
