Very rare and large colonial Christ on the cross, South America late 17th/early 18th century, in native wood and polychrome, the perizonium in leather, the body entirely painted on a layer of stucco. Christ is represented alive, his face turned to the right, his right foot covering his left foot. Finely carved, remains of partial polychromy visible. Some gaps at the ends, mounted on a modern wooden panel covered with fabric. Rare testimony to the representation of Christ on the cross in Latin America. All as is, see photos.
