* Paul Jacquet was born in Pers Jussy on June 23, 1883.
After a happy childhood, he became a teacher, like his father, while preparing to become a drawing teacher. At the Beaux-Arts in Geneva, he became passionate about the chiaroscuros of Rembrandt and the prints of Hokuzaï. He became an enthusiastic teacher and remained so until his retirement.
Passionate about ceramics, but being a civil servant, he could not trade in them on a large scale, so he created a workshop in Savoie, around 1913. He carried out the two activities jointly throughout his life.
He began making ceramics in the Savoyard tradition but harmonizing the form with his designs and colors. Becoming a member of the Société des Beaux-Arts de Savoie and then of the Société des Artistes Decorateurs, he exhibited extensively. He collaborated with the PRIMAVERA workshops between 1920 and 1925. At the same time, two other Parisian "Decorators" made call on him René HERBST (1891-1982) and Francis JOURDAIN (1876-1958).
