"French School 17th Century : “lady Of Quality In Sainte Agnes”"
17th century French school: “Lady of quality in Saint Agnes”, oil on canvas 40 x 31 cm, mounted in a beautiful 19th century painted and gilded frame 57 x 48 cm. Relining, some clumsy restorations to be done again. This charming painting shows us a young woman portraited on a balcony in front of a landscape with the attributes of her patron saint such as the lamb and the palm of martyrdom. Her rich clothes, her cute red ribbon shoe and her pearl necklace indicate that she is a high-ranking personality. The technique, delicate, is reminiscent of Mignard and therefore probably directs us towards a Provençal school. Do not hesitate to ask us for photos or additional information by email or telephone.
